What a week! After photographing inspirational women for almost a year, on Wednesday night I finally got to celebrate the launch of Portraits of Inspiration – a book project that has raised $5000 for Fitted For Work – and we will continue to raise more through book sales!
As a small business owner I never felt like I was in a position to donate time or money to causes I love, but this project was an idea and an opportunity that came to me as a way I could give back through my work. And it has taught me that you are never too small to make a difference.
Huge thanks again to all the women that took part, and to everyone else that supported it along the way – in particular Lisa Sweeney and Tiannii Tang from Business in Heels Bayside, and Lauren from Studio Artastic for her beautiful book design.
Thanks also to CEO of Fitted for Work Donna de Zwart who came along and spoke on Wednesday night. What phenomenal work they do. And her talk was a reality check that we still have a lot of work ahead if we want to ensure the situation for women in society and the workplace doesn’t deteriorate further.
When women support each other, incredible things happen. So let’s support other women, period.

Some pics from Wednesday night below – kicking off with one of the book’s cover girls, the gorgeous and fun Kate Castle from Arbonne, who also donated 2 days of her time to offer complimentary makeup for women having their photo taken!
