Let's chat about how we can work together!

This week in my Powerful Branding Bootcamp program, we’re focusing on content creation and visibility, two massive topics for business owners that often come hand in hand with overwhelm and anxiety.

But here’s the thing: creating visibility for your business doesn’t have to be as hard as we often make it out to be. In fact, it can be quite manageable if it stems from a place of authenticity and value. (And let’s be honest, if it isn’t authentic you’re not going to get far anyway.)

Visibility is closely tied to content creation, which I like to break down into two main areas. First, we have valuable, educational content that showcases your expertise and offers advice and solutions to your audience. Second, is more personalised content that reveals who you are and what drives you, creating a deeper connection with your audience. When you create content that incorporates these two aspects authentically, you’ll foster a strong and loyal community of followers.

88 percent of consumers say that authenticity is a key factor when deciding what brands they like and support (Stackla, 2021).

But let’s take a step back for a moment. If you want to create visibility for your business through authentic content, there’s one crucial element you need to have covered: personal branding images. These images are the key to stopping the scroll, grabbing people’s attention, and holding it long enough for them to read what you have to say.

Did you know that it takes just 1/10th of a second to understand a visual scene, while reading 200-250 words usually takes around sixty seconds? It’s also been proven that imagery can evoke deep, emotional responses in people in split seconds. Once you realise that, you understand why capturing attention with powerful images is vital.

Personal branding images not only humanise your business, they also leave a lasting impression on your audience. By consistently sharing images of yourself you imprint your face and brand in their minds, increasing the likelihood that they’ll remember and recognise you in the future. You’re also inviting your audience to connect with you on a deeper level and actively participate in your brand journey, and that’s what we all want, right? It’s not enough to be amazing at what you do; you need to show up and give people the opportunity to discover you, get to know you, and to connect with you, before they can learn from you.

As stated by visibility expert Jemimah Ashleigh (pictured above), “At the end of the day, even though it may feel like a lot of effort, the more you show up in front of your ideal audience, the more opportunities you have to create brand awareness and generate customers. This is where personal branding becomes even more crucial, as it serves as the backbone of your content creation journey.”

So, regardless of your feelings about showing up as the face of your business, don’t underestimate the power of personal branding images. Instead of avoiding them, embrace them, incorporate them authentically into your content, and watch as your visibility soars, your audience grows, and your business thrives. It may require stepping outside your comfort zone, but the rewards are worth it.

Keep showing up, keep being authentic, and you’ll keep shining brightly!

The images in this post were shot for Jemimah Ashleigh, a leading expert in visibility who specialises in helping entrepreneurs get seen. No one understands the power of personal branding images more than she does, and we have an absolute blast on every shoot. Jemimah was styled by Roopa Gulati, with hair and makeup by Justine O. These images were shot at one of my favourite Melbourne locations, The Studio Melbourne.
